We arrived in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland, after a sobering and revealing morning visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial.
The Lauterbrunnen valley was without question the highlight destination of our entire trip! Ice-capped Swiss Alps, cascading waterfalls, deep green valleys, quiet alpine villages, bell-cows grazing on the grassy slopes, and bright sunshiny skies all combined to offer us the warmest of welcomes. There were no scheduled tours here; this was a place to explore completely at our own pace, and we loved it! Ivy celebrated her 20th birthday here, where she was appropriately serenaded by our fellow group tour travelers. |
