After celebrating the wedding anniversary of one of our fellow traveling couples with live music on the terrace (and also featuring the vocal talents of our guide, Keith!), we departed the next day for Venice.
Arriving in Venice offered us another new mode of public transportation -- the vaporetto (basically water-borne buses). These crowded water taxis carried us to the center of Venice, and the journey did not disappoint. We've all seen visions of the city on the silver screen, and it looks much the same in person. There's nothing else like it. And once we landed at our hotel, we found Venice to be an excellent place to wander on foot. |
